The "Spartans" Dunk High was one of the seven original color ways that debuted in 1985 as part of Nike’s College Colors Program, a campaign that brought school-spirited colorways to footwear in college basketball. 

The high-top utilizes a mesh tongue for breathable comfort, accented with a woven Nike tag for an OG aesthetic. They launched in stores less than a week before the ‘Michigan’ Dunk, contributing to the well-known intrastate rivalry.
